My name is Amy Crispin. Also known as "Ms. Sew and Sew." This is my 45th year as a sewist. I made my first elastic waistband skirt for 4H when I was 8 years old. I come from a long line of seamstresses, quilters, and 4Hers. My mom has a degree in fashion design and was a home economics and 4H sewing teacher for many years. She taught me almost everything she knows. I still call her and ask, "Why isn't this collar lying flat!" or "How come I can't get this hem straight!!" ​I started teaching 4Hers to sew with my mom from the time I was 18 until I had my first baby at 29. I started teaching friends children to sew their 4H projects when my daughter was old enough to enter 4H herself. That is were the seeds for Ms. Sew and Sew's Studio were planted. ​I officially opened Ms. Sew and Sew's Studio the fall of 2018. I have taught children as young as 4 and adults as old as 73 how to sew. I have had women AND men! (I have taught all of my boys and my husband how to sew. In 2020 our family made over 400 masks!)​ Ms. Sew and Sew went on a brief sabbatical between 2022 and 2026 to teach art at Cherry Tree Elementary in Carmel, In. After graduating from IU I taught 3rd grade in Pike Township. After my first year at Eagle Creek Elementary School I wished I had gone to school to be an art teacher. I was so jealous of our art teacher. She got to create art ALL DAY LONG! Oddly, I was envious of her messy hands at the end of the day. Getting the art teacher job in 2022 was a dream come true!​ That dream led me to add art classes to Ms. Sew and Sew's class roster. I love my job. I love sewing, art, kids, teaching, and building a community of adults who love to create.
